Hello, we are Jack and Neha

We are excited and grateful for the chance to meet you and get to know each other. Family is so important to us.  and we can’t fully express how much it means to us to build our family through adoption.  We have so much love to give and can’t wait to share the 5 F’s (you’ll learn about those below) with a child- we get excited and emotional thinking about it.

How we met and why we “clicked”!

We met at a Crossfit gym in Philadelphia about ten years ago. Neha first noticed Jack wearing a goofy 70’s disco shirt at a party and was immediately charmed by his easygoing nature and good humor. Jack was blown away by Neha’s confidence, wit and beauty. 

Ever since then, we’ve been inseparable and our love has grown daily. To us, ten years often feels like ten days! We think it’s because we genuinely enjoy each other’s company and share many common interests. As Neha’s Dad explained during his wedding toast, we have a passion for the 5 F’s – Food, Family, Fitness, Football, and Fun. Luckily, we live in Chicago where we can enjoy these in abundance.

Chicago, where we call home! 

We have lived in Chicago for almost three years and love it here! It’s a beautiful city with endless things to do and places to visit, including museums, parks, restaurants and beaches. It’s also incredibly diverse with many different neighborhoods to explore. 

The summers here are phenomenal – the weather is perfect, the city is full of action and life, and we soak up every second of it – we’re always running along the lakefront, making up workouts to do together at a park, or going for a nighttime stroll to get our favorite ice cream.

Although we have different cultural backgrounds, we realized early on in our relationship that as a couple we shared common values. Both our families are also very open-minded and have shared in each other’s customs and traditions. Our wedding exemplified this - Neha’s parents performed an Irish jig to honor Jack’s background while Jack’s family wore Indian clothing, enjoyed Indian food and learned Indian dance moves.

We love our blended family and all that it brings, such as celebrating Diwali (Indian New Year) with Neha’s family and friends, and going on the annual McNamara shore trip (we’re almost 50+ on the beach with siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles). 

We know that our family WILL CONTINUE TO EMBRACE AND APPRECIATE NEW TRADITIONS as we grow our multiracial and multicultural family. 

About Neha

Neha is the most loving and caring person I have ever met and she dedicates so much of her time and energy to the well-being of others. 

She is incredibly smart, hardworking, and nurturing, yet she also makes time to bring out her goofy and playful side. On a regular basis, she demands living room dance parties just to liven up the place…and she’ll do this in the middle of cooking us an amazing and healthy meal. I think this balance will make her an amazing mother. I’m also constantly impressed by her passion for the arts. She plays the harp, is a great singer, reads multiple books a week, and is always up to start binge-watching a new show with me. 

About Jack

Jack is kind, funny, affectionate, thoughtful, intelligent…he’s pretty much the best ever. He makes me giggle all the time, and he is always doing sweet little things for me like refilling my coffee in the morning. I love his curiosity and eagerness to try new things- he’s always listening to a new podcast or learning a new skill (recently he started to teach himself to play the harmonica). 

He has such a big heart and is so full of life; I love joking around with him and sharing big bear hugs with him. His presence and energy lights up a room and my life, and I know he will do the same for a child.
