INTRODUCTION

Hello! We are Molly, David, and our son, Benjamin from Ohio.

Thank you for taking a moment to get to know us as you think about this incredibly important and brave decision.

We want you to know that if we are given the privilege to bring another child into our lives, we will love, cherish and nurture him or her with all our hearts. We want to grow our family because we have more love to give. We are also very close with our parents and loved ones and everyone is looking forward to this chance.

We believe in leading by example.

As a couple, we complement each other perfectly. We have completely tossed aside traditional gender roles – we both contribute equally to making our home a comfortable and happy place. While Benjamin may only be four, he, too, is expected to help contribute in small ways by picking up toys, bringing his plate to the sink and using kind words (i.e., please and thank you). We believe in leading by example so that our son – and any other child we bring into our lives – learns by seeing and by doing.

From his early volunteer work with families and their children to starting his legal career in child advocacy and his ongoing work with the United States Navy, his goal in life is to improve the lives of others.

About Benjamin

Benjamin is our 4-year-old biological son.

He is incredibly curious, asks a lot of questions, and wants to know about the world around him.  He loves to draw and build things with his blocks or Magnatiles. He’s both helpful and very compassionate.  He’s quick to hug someone when they’re sad and will say ‘sorry’ if he makes a mistake. Because he’s so curious, we love taking him to playgrounds, museums and outings like apple or blueberry picking. 

Home Sweet Home

We live in northeast Ohio in a quiet neighborhood.

Our house is on a corner so we see our neighbors frequently and Ben has become the Mayor – saying hello to everyone who walks by when we play in the front yard. Our home is very kid-friendly with a large playroom off the kitchen and a second play area downstairs. We are fortunate enough that each child gets his or her own bedroom.

There are a number of state parks, farms, and playgrounds in our area. We’re also members of the local zoo, which is the perfect size for a morning-long excursion in the spring, summer or fall.  

tHE People We love

Family is incredibly important to us.

Molly comes from a very close family. Her parents and sisters also live in the northeast Ohio area and we see them weekly. Molly’s sister Eden has a fur-baby named Lambeau (a 90 lb ‘gentle giant’ yellow lab) and her sister Abby has a 9-year-old daughter, Grace, who Ben calls his ‘sister-cousin’.  He likes spending time at their house and is especially close with them.

Molly also has a large, extended family of about 50+ aunts, uncles, cousins and cousins’ kids.  Molly and her cousins have an ongoing text chain and frequently talk on it to keep each other appraised of what’s going on in their lives. When we do get together, there’s a lot of laughter, music, and children running around. It’s a circus but the best kind!

David is an only child, but his mother and stepfather recently relocated to Ohio so that they could be closer to us and have a more consistent relationship with Ben.

Beyond our biological family are some of our closest friends who have been in our lives for decades and who are non-biological aunts and uncles to Ben, invested in his growth and people we know we could call upon at a moment’s notice if we ever needed help.
