Lindsay and Ken Adopt

INTRODUCTION

Hi! We are Lindsay & Ken with our daughter Willow.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family as you consider creating your adoption plan.

We can only imagine this is a difficult time for you, so we are very appreciative of your time to learn more about us.

We currently live in Northern Indiana with our three-year old daughter, Willow, and our pup, Lollipop. We have known each other for nine years and have been married for six. We are excited for the opportunity to expand our family through adoption and we look forward to meeting you and learning more about you as well.

Our Life Together

We met nine years ago online when Ken reached out to Lindsay about college football which quickly grabbed her attention as a fellow football fan.

We spent a month or two emailing and talking and learning more about each other before our first date. We both realized we had a special connection after the first date and Lindsay's rescue dog Captain, who didn’t trust men, loved Ken immediately. We married three and a half years later. We were blessed with our daughter Willow two years later via IVF.

We enjoy venturing to state parks to hike, kayak and play on the beaches of the many lakes around us. We are very excited to grow our family through adoption.

A Special Note on Adoption: We both have siblings and have always wanted multiple children. After Willow’s birth, we realized our only chance to grow our family further would be through adoption. It is close to our heart as Ken’s mother was adopted and Lindsay's aunt adopted her daughter, Jenny, that Lindsay grew up with.

About Lindsay by Ken

In short- Lindsay is the best friend I've ever had. She is smart, fun and deeply caring.

Her devotion to children is unparalleled. She goes out of her way to make sure that any kids in her presence feel comfortable and at ease. She spends a lot of time giving herself to others. Lindsay also has a great ability to balance work life and home life. She manages to work full time and still spend plenty of time with the family. She loves playing with Willow and is looking forward to creating memories with her future child as well.

Some of her favorites:

  • Food: Pizza

  • Sports Teams: PSU and Philadelphia Eagles

  • Family Tradition: Friday’s are pizza night and dance parties in the kitchen

About Ken by Lindsay

Passion, loyalty, and sense of humor - these are the qualities that first attracted me to Ken and the same qualities that make me fall deeper in love with him each day.

Ken is passionate about his family, friends, sports, and career. I recall early on in our communication how devoted he was to his friends and family and how much those relationships meant to him. Ken loves his career in Engineering and he now has a job he loves and only works four days a week, so he has plenty of time for our family. He is a great teammate as a husband, wonderful and loving father and I have no doubt in my mind he will have an amazing connection with our future children as well.

Some of his favorites:

  • Food: Cheesecake

  • Sports Teams: MSU and Detroit pro teams

  • Family Tradition: “Family on 3!” - Our family cheer

the Big Sister to Be!

About Willow

We are confident with Willow’s sweet natured way, she will be a great big sister.

Willow is so sweet and silly. She is always dancing and making funny faces. She's excited to dress up and play in the sandbox with her future sibling. She promises she’ll share with them too. She has taken survival swim lessons and is currently in Soccer Shots and dance class.

Home Sweet Home

Our hometown is a welcoming place for young families.

We have many local parks, state parks, playgrounds and lakes nearby. We are fortunate to live in a large neighborhood with many families, young and old. We enjoy taking walks and meeting our neighbors as well as playing on our playset in our large fenced in backyard. Willow loves to play fetch with Lolli and looks forward to playing in her sandbox, climbing the rock wall and swinging with her future sibling. We have a five bedroom home with a finished basement and large playroom attached to the kids’ bedrooms. So during the winter or rainy days, we’re usually dressing up, doing experiments or creating art masterpieces in the playroom.

Our Pup, Lollipop: Lollipop is an 8 year old Puggle (Pug-Beagle Mix) rescue that we adopted when she was two. She is quite the ninja at finding ways into mischief, but at the same time is very loveable. She is very patient with children and will just walk away or go to her crate if children make her nervous at all.

tHis is Our Village

We are close with our families and are usually able to spend time together as one big family on the major holidays.

We are fortunate that we only live a few minutes away from Ken’s brother and his family. Willow’s cousins, Zane and Raya, are all close in age and get along well together, most of the time. Zane (7) watches over Raya (3) and Willow and is kind and patient with them. We are also fortunate to have both sets of grandparents around quite often. Ken’s parents live in Michigan, but are working on relocating to the area since their grandkids are here and they visit so frequently. Ken’s sister is also in Michigan and visits when she can. Lindsay’s parents live in Pennsylvania, but recently bought a 2nd house near a lake here in Indiana, so they can spend weeks at a time visiting with our family. Lindsay’s brother and his husband live in Philadelphia and FaceTime frequently and visit a few times a year.

“The whole clan is incredibly excited to welcome a new addition.”

in closing

We want to thank you again for taking the time to learn about our family as you consider your adoption plan.

Our Promise to You

It is important to us that your child knows their story, background and that you loved them enough to consider an adoption plan for them. We want to work with you to learn what this means to you and how we can incorporate this into your child’s life.

We respect that you have an incredibly difficult decision to make and are confident that you will make the best decision for you and your child. Your child will always know your love, selflessness and courage. We know that, whatever your decision, your child will be loved. We look forward to meeting you!

Lindsay, Ken and Willow
