INTRODUCTION

Hi! We’re Kristin, Pablo and Riley!

We cannot wait for another child to love and for Riley to have a little brother or sister.

We are very happy to greet you. In these few pages we hope to give you some idea of who we are and how we love each other. We adopted Riley as a baby just five short years ago and truly from the center of both our hearts, it has been the most amazing experience of our lives. Silliness and love are at the core of our family. 

We believe trust builds a family.  We know that this bond is something that gets nurtured and cultivated every day.  We want everyone in our family circle to feel secure in the idea that we love and accept them.

We believe in open adoption and in being honest and transparent from day one. This idea helps us all grow as a supportive family.

From our home near Chicago, Illinois, Kristin practices law, Riley remotely attends kindergarten, and Pablo is a stay at home dad (and these days assistant school teacher for Riley). The whole family plays in the backyard where sometimes we gather around the fire pit for s’mores and sled in the winter.

We have had so many long discussions about the building blocks to a caring family and feel that adding another child through adoption is the best way for us to fulfill these dreams.

Things We Love:

Travel • We love to travel and have been lucky enough to have lived in Switzerland for a time. Since Riley has come into our life we have been able to take many trips around the world and Riley has seen the sights in places like Hong Kong, London, Paris, and Mexico City.

Classic Cars • We both love classic cars and have each been able to own several. Kristin enjoys driving around in her 1976 MG Midget convertible on beautiful days while Pablo drives his 1965 Mustang coupe. Working on classic cars is something that the three of us spend time on.

Kristin enjoys walks, family game night, puzzles, yoga and meditation.

Kristin is one of the hardest working people I have ever met. She has a knack for meeting people and making them feel like they have been friends for a long time. She is extremely supportive of any endeavor I attempt regardless of the outcome and, because of this; both Riley and I feel like we can do anything! 

Kristin is patient, honest and full of love. I know that if I need an opinion about something, I can talk to her about it and, regardless of what it is; she will be both honest and supportive. Even though she may have a busy day at work, she never forgets to take time to check-in and see how our day is going.

Pablo enjoys reading, driving classic cars, Pokemon, photography and traveling.

When we were dating Pablo told me that there may be others with more money or a more impressive job title, but no one else was going to love me as much as him or make sure that I laugh every day, and he has kept these promises. From surprise dance parties in our living room to sending me videos of him tossing snowballs to our two doggies, he makes sure that my day has a great chance of being awesome. 

Smart, empathetic and thoughtful, I am proud that Pablo is the center of our family. His patience with teaching Riley knows no end. He enjoys many creative activities such as drawing, writing, working on his classic Mustang, and cooking. He always thinks about what could be fun in any given situation. I often tell Pablo he is the love of my life but in truth, these words fall short of how really amazing he is. He tells me I am beautiful every day, he reaches for my hand when we walk, and when I am tired he reminds me that there is nothing in this world I can’t do.

meet riley

Future big sister

Riley is a ballerina, no wait she is an astronaut, no wait, she is a doctor, no wait, she is a mermaid all wrapped up in a five year old. Wonderful, patient, kind, and often giggly, she loves the idea of being a big sister and has already started planning out new adventures. She asks questions like, “If I want to live on the moon, will the baby come?”

She makes friends with an ease that is enviable. Riley is very active and enjoys swimming and gymnastics. She has a great sense of humor and has started making up her own jokes which she finds hilarious even if they make no sense to us. 

our home & community

We live in beautiful Tinley Park, a south suburb of Chicago.

Living here is wonderful because it has the small-town feel of lazy Sunday afternoons and evening walks, but it is still close enough to downtown Chicago that we have access to all of the great things to do like car shows, farmer’s markets, festivals and concerts. We live in a four-bedroom house with a large backyard. It sits just a few blocks away from a grammar school and three doors down from a park.

In the fall and winter Pablo likes to decorate the house to fit the season and in the summer Kristin tends her gardens. Summer is also barbeque season for Pablo and you can often find Kristin relaxing in their hammock while Riley and the dogs play and Pablo flips burgers. On the fourth of July we are a short walk from seeing our village’s fireworks show or we may run a couple of towns over to watch with family or friends.
