INTRODUCTION

Hello! We are Julia and Chris from Florida! Together with our children, we're excited to introduce ourselves.

We are excited to meet you! We are grateful and honored that you are considering us in this part of your life story.

We have always known adoption would be part of our family’s story. We LOVE being parents. At this point in our lives, we are experienced parents who have been through practically every parenting scenario. We are ready for and open to anything; any age, any race, any special needs. There isn’t too much we haven’t seen at this point, and have managed it all with grace, patience, and love. If you choose to make an adoption plan, we would be honored for you to consider our family to raise and love your baby. 

We are open to whatever level of openness you desire. We promise that your child will always know the immense and unending love you have for them. They will be raised in a family with endless love and affection, in a warm and friendly home with support and respect for who they are as individuals. If you wish, you will be part of the family too. 

thoughts on parenting

Even though we already have a large family by most people’s standards, we know in our hearts we are not done yet.

We have room for at least 2 more. We have always known that we wanted to adopt children. Julia’s last pregnancy was life-threatening and she had to have an emergency hysterectomy so we can no longer have biological children. That made it very clear that it was time to make good on our promise to each other to adopt, and “someday” became now!

About Julia by Chris

When I first met Julia, two things that I noticed about her right away (besides the fact that she was beautiful) was that she laughed at my jokes and she was super smart. Her mind is incredible. She will find a problem, research it and solve it! When she was just 15 years old she was doing high school distance learning, dual-enrolled in community college, and working a job all at once! 

As smart as she is, she could have gone to school anywhere and gotten any degree. However, from a very young age she knew she knew she wanted a very big family and she has dedicated herself to that goal. 

She is a very loving and nurturing mom. She always has a baby or child in a sling, cuddled up with her or sleeping in our bed. They have all gotten to experience having a stay-at-home mom which is something special. She is a warm and open person who is so easy to talk to.

A Special Message From Julia:

Mom to mom, I want you to know I make a sacred promise to you to make sure you always know how your child is doing and that they are safe and loved. As a mother, I can understand that you will need to know your child is happy no matter what, and I will make certain you have that confidence in us and our family, with regular updates as you want them. We will answer your questions and take your phone calls. We will send you photos and artwork and text you funny stories too, if you want.

About Chris by Julia

I first fell for Chris because he made me laugh! He is a big goofball who loves jokes and puns and has perfect comedic timing. He is lighthearted and childlike and a joy to be around. 

He is also the most patient and even-keeled person I know. It doesn’t matter what is happening around him- the kids could all be in chaos and he doesn’t feel the stress of that at all. He is cool as a cucumber. We have been through some really hard things together, like the birth of our daughter Phoebe, who has multiple special needs. He was never worried about it. He just KNEW everything would work out, and he was right. He is my rock!

If there is something that needs doing, he rolls up his sleeves and gets it done! This is especially true as a father. We both work from home and take equal shifts with the kids during the day, swapping between work and stay-at-home parenting. He is all-in with doing diapers and making meals, administering medicine, helping with homework, etc.

He is very creative. I would even say he is magical. You know how some families do Elf on the Shelf at Christmastime? He does that stuff all year round! One example of this is he built lots of little fairy houses with the kids out of popsicle sticks and boxes. Then, he secretly found some plastic fairy figures, and he has the fairies appear periodically in the houses to surprise the kids, who just eat it up.

The Big Siblings

Meet Avery (17): Our oldest daughter is very organized. She has deep feelings and is very empathetic. She loves music (especially piano), art, and anime. 

Meet Hudson (15): He is a helper and very responsible kid. He feels duty bound and always steps up to help. He is FANTASTIC with all the other kids and is our go-to mother’s helper. He also loves music and drawing. 

Meet Beckett (12): He LOVES puns. He is very witty and has a dry sense of humor that cracks us up! He loves music (he plays guitar) and is very artistic. He loves to draw and create things out of Legos.

The Four Littles

Meet Phoebe (9): She is our princess who is always wearing pink! She loves Disney! She was a preemie, only 1lb, 5 ounces when she was born and has several special needs. We can’t imagine our lives without her!

Meet Ever (7): He has so much energy that his nickname is EverReady Battery because he never stops moving. He says he wants to be a marine biologist and chef when he grows up.

Meet Isla (4): She has had a BIG personality since day one. She is so funny. She reminds us of Lucille Ball. She is unstoppable! Some could consider this a challenging trait in a preschooler, but it will be a great trait when she is an adult.

Meet Bowie (3): He had a traumatic and risky birth, so Julia didn’t get to see him until the next day. He has been super cuddly and loving from the moment we could hold him. He also has loads of energy and is obsessed with trains and birds. His favorites are flamingos!

A Place We Call Home

We absolutely love our house here in Central Florida.

We live in a safe and secure gated neighborhood, and our backyard is on a golf course, with a clubhouse, community pool, and playground facility nearby. We have the kind of neighbors who smile and wave at each other, check in on each other, and go for dinner together to catch up. There are lots of families with kids right on our street.

You can envision dinnertime at our home like this: as one of us makes dinner, the big kids help (or not!) while the others play nearby. We have every craft supply known to man, and there is always a project going on at the kitchen table. Many of the kids love to play the piano or other instruments, so there's always music in our house!  

We’ve come to feel it is fitting that we live so close to Disney, because that place really sums up who we are. Our home is filled with laughter, love and chaos, but is also run like a well-oiled machine. And every day, we try to instill a magic into our kids' childhoods.

A large family like ours has so many wonderful benefits, and we would love to welcome your child in to our home to experience them all. We also know that no matter where their lives take them from here, the greatest gift we have given them is each other. Our love for our children has only multiplied as each has joined our family; it’s never been divided.

We know this will be the same for the children we adopt as well. There is room for more in our hearts and our home, and they will become one of our pack. They will have instant friends and playmates to hang out and bond with, and their siblings will be their best friends for life. 

We hope that we can learn more about you and eventually share this journey with you. We would love to know you and the hopes and dreams you have for your child, and would be honored to be a part of your and your child’s story.
