INTRODUCTION

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read our story!

We are Josalyn and Doug. We have one child, Thomas, who turned 2 on the 4th of July. He is our little firecracker. 

Our greatest joy comes from loving and being loved by our son. We had always hoped to have multiple children but complications during Thomas’s birth made conceiving another child impossible. So after praying for guidance, we know in our hearts that adopting a child is what we want more than anything. We want to share our love with another child. We want Thomas to have a brother or sister to love and cherish and we cannot wait for the day we bring our future son or daughter home. Our hearts are open and ready to embrace the child that we may be blessed enough to call our own. Doug and I met each other when I was attending WVU.

Doug had recently graduated from WVU with a Masters of Business Administration and I was working towards my Masters in Elementary Education. I would describe Doug as a big teddy bear with a heart of gold. He has a big sense of humor and always has everyone's best interest in mind. He enjoys researching the latest gadgets, working on our yard, playing games with our son, and watching sports. Doug works as a financial examiner for the Federal Government.

I am teaching in my first year at the middle school level. I teach 7th and 8th grade Special Education Math. I previously taught for 8 years at the Elementary level both Special Education and Pre-K Special Needs. I enjoy running long distance, reading, and all things Disney. Thomas is my pride and joy. Being a Mom is by far my greatest adventure. I cannot wait to meet our newest family member and look forward to watching our children grow up together.

our home

Our home is located in a residential neighborhood in Morgantown, West Virginia.

We are blessed to have loving neighbors on all sides of us. In our neighborhood there are several families with young children. We bought our home because of its charm and large yard. It was built in the 1920’s. Our home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house has a large living room next to a big play room. It has a formal dining room that we use each evening for dinner. We recently remodeled our kitchen. It includes a small breakfast nook that our son has recently decided is his favorite space. Downstairs you will also find a family room which opens to the garage.

A few fun things about us…

1. Doug and I are crazy about Disney. We went to WDW for our honeymoon.

2. I have run 2 marathons (both at WDW).

3. Thomas loves horses. "Horse" was one of his first words.

4. Doug was an Academic All-American when he played football for West Virginia University.

5. I am 5’1 and Doug is 6’6.

6. We are raising our son in the Catholic faith.

7. We have two outdoor rabbits that Thomas enjoys feeding and petting.

8. We love all things WVU. We have been football season ticket holders for the last 6 years.

9. Thomas is named after both of our Dads.

10. Family is the most important thing in our lives.
