Design + Style

  • We highly recommend investing in a professional photoshoot. It makes a big difference. Adoption professionals, agencies, and attorneys want profiles that feel polished, warm, and clear, and that all begins with great photography.

Your story is powerful, and we want to make sure your images reflect that. Low-resolution or poorly lit photos (even ones you love) are tough to work with and can lessen the impact of your profile. That said, we can still incorporate a few favorite cell phone shots as supporting images throughout your book, but for your main photos, a professional session is absolutely worth it.

We’ll set you up for success with tip sheets and guidelines on how to get the right images, plus discount codes for Snappr and Shoott if you need help booking a photographer. Remember, this is your one chance to make a great first impression—and great impressions start with great photos!

  • We strongly recommend a profile that is 12 or 16 pages as it gives you the space to share meaningful photos, thoughtful text, and those little personal touches that help expectant moms connect with your story. Our most popular option is the 16-page profile, which looks beautiful on both desktop and mobile when shared digitally.

We do offer shorter formats (like 1-page front-and-back, 8-page or 4-page profiles), but these are usually only recommended when an agency specifically requests it. Most adoption professionals agree: more space = more connection.

  • The most impactful profiles are the ones where your personality shines through. Expectant parents want to imagine their child’s life with you, including your traditions, daily rhythm, and home.

We’ll guide you in choosing high-quality photos and writing genuine, relatable text that reflects who you really are. Your profile is designed around you so it feels fresh, vibrant, and authentically yours.

Agencies also share what connects best, such as bold clothing or clean, modern layouts. We understand these nuances and design profiles that highlight you while also aligning with professional preferences.

Important Note: If you’re open to adopting a child of another race, it’s important to show racial diversity in your profile.

  • We take your style notes and have you choose favorites from our style boards. From there, we combine your preferences with your agency’s requirements to create a custom design. You’ll see a proof and can request edits before finalizing.

  • Not at all. While we follow a few proven layouts that help tell your story clearly and beautifully, no two profiles are ever the exact same. We design around your photos, your voice, and your unique vibe.

Our style is warm, colorful, and modern—but always flexible enough to fit agency preferences and your comfort level. The goal? A profile that feels like you and helps you stand out in all the right ways.
