INTRODUCTION

Hi! I’m Colleen and I just can’t wait to be a mom!

I have the most wonderful network of family and friends that support me and are as excited to be on this adoption journey with me. I’ve wanted to be a mom since I can remember and even tried to have a baby on my own a few times. That didn’t work out, but I’ve always been open to the idea of adoption and am happy to be in front of you now. One of my best friends adopted her son and it’s been so phenomenal to watch for the past 7 years.

My dream in raising a child is to impart the lessons I have learned over the years but to also try and parent to that child’s strengths; to let them discover who they are and encourage their personal growth and happiness. On top of the wisdom, I just have so much love to give.

I’m a very open and transparent person and would hope to include you in the child’s life to a degree that you are comfortable with. I really appreciate you looking at my profile and wanting to know me more. I hope we have the chance to meet and get to know each other. I admire and respect the choice you are making.

For work, I sell advertising in podcasts. I run the office in the Midwest so I have a lot of freedom to be able to also be a mom. I’m also happy to recommend some podcasts to check out!

my home and community

I live in the windy city - Chicago, Illinois!

I live in a really cool neighborhood in Chicago on a quiet street with lots of space and light, not to mention a huge park one street away. My brother Jeff, sister-in-law Paola and new nephew Gabriel live 4 streets away, so we see each other several times a week. We can’t wait to raise our children together.

My family and I also spend a lot of time in Arizona, planned around spring training for the Cubs and because we all need some sun after cold winters in Chicago. 

There is always music playing at my house and I’m known for putting together the best playlists for any party. I also love seeing live music. It really feeds me and makes me feel alive. For a while I had a goal to travel to one new music festival each year. If only I could carry a tune or play an instrument!

a few Fun Facts!

• My family has been Cubs season ticket holders since 1984 and we love going as a family to Wrigley Field. I can’t wait to bring your child there one day to experience the joys of the ballpark.

• I love to travel and see new places. I try hard to do what the locals do instead of the tourists, so I get a real sense for that culture. In the past few years I’ve been to London, Barcelona, Lisbon, NY, California, Nashville and Austin. I hope to pass this love of other places and people to your child. 

• After taking a flower arranging workshop, turns out, I’m pretty good at it! Since then I’ve been doing flower arrangements for all my friend’s parties. I also love plants and have over 25 in my house. It looks like a lush greenhouse in some corners!

• I live for my workouts and HIIT class at the gym. Exercise keeps me happy and healthy!

My extended family are my friends

My extended family are my friends. At minimum they’ve been in my life for 10 years, some closer to 30 years. These are my ride-or-dies… my girlfriends, their husbands and their kids. They say it takes a village, well these are my villagers. Our group celebrates all birthdays together which basically gives us a reason to get together almost every other week. Good thing some of our friends own a beautiful lodge in Indiana, where we can all unplug from city life and be in wide open spaces in the country. 

My parents have been wanting to be grandparents for years. They finally have Gabe and I can’t wait to give them another grandchild… they are in heaven and jump in to help at a moment’s notice.

I’m a Godparent

While I don’t have kids yet, I have been asked to be the godparent to three boys: Brady (12), Davis (10) and Caden (6). Here’s what their parents had to say…
