Hello! I’m Amy from Arizona
INTRODUCTION
Nice to meet you! Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.
Since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to adopt a child and you taking this time makes me one step closer to that. My sister was adopted, and my mother always told us that we each came to her in a different way. Since I was enthralled with the idea of becoming a mommy, I couldn’t wait to experience having a baby. Although I never actually conceived a child, that hasn’t changed my dream nor my excitement about adopting a child! I can’t wait to help them learn about the world around them.
I look forward to sharing with them my love of music, sports, history and the fun of learning. I mostly look forward to just giving them lots of love and attention. I will provide your child with a happy, warm and loving home. I will support them always to be who and whatever they want to be!
about ME
I am a physician and I work a condensed work schedule.
I am able to be 100% mom when I am at home. My colleagues are some of my biggest supporters and also working mothers. They give great advice!! I believe it most definitely takes a village to raise a child, and my “village” is the absolute greatest.
A Few of My Favorites:
Children’s Book: Where the Wild Things Are
Color: Chartreuse
Person I’d Like to Meet: Michelle Obama
Musician: Lady Gaga
Dream Job: I really wanted to be a rock and roll star, or maybe a back-up singer... didn’t we all!
Meet Marissa
A Special Young Person in My Life
I have been very lucky to have an “unofficially adopted” adult child, Marissa. We do everything together!
She was eighteen and finishing high school when her mother passed away. I promised Marissa’s mother I would take her places I had been, expose her to culture and promote her education. She is now twenty-five, working on her bachelor’s degree and trying to make it in the world. Helping Marissa navigate that path from finishing high school into early adulthood has been some of the most fun and rewarding experiences of my life. Marissa will tell you I believed in her when no one else did, taught her anything is possible and that I will always stand by her. Our experience has helped crystallize my dreams to adopt and also what I have to offer as a mother.
Things I can’t Wait to share with a child
I can’t wait to show your child all the different and wonderful places there are to see in this world — to visit family and friends in places like Washington DC, New York, Philadelphia, and Puerto Rico. Although we are all scattered apart, I want your child to know my friends well so that their love and support will always be felt. Whether we are at home in Arizona or traveling with family and friends, it will be fun!
Roots: In the summer we will go to my childhood home in Pennsylvania to spend time with my second family. We will spend our days swimming and playing outside.
Theatre: I will take your child to plays and musicals. I want your child to hear how people express themselves through the theatre and music.
Animals: I will take your child to the zoo and wildlife rescues. I want to teach your child about the humane treatment of all living things, including the furry ones.
World: In addition to historical sites and museums, I will take your child hiking and we will spend a lot of time outdoors. The city of Phoenix has many mountain trails in their city parks. I want to take your child with me up high to look out over the city. I want to give them that chance to appreciate the world around them and where they have come from.
My LOVED ONES
My friends and my family (and my cats) are what matters to me most.
My heroes aren’t movie or TV characters. They’re my friends and family, who I keep and cherish for a lifetime. I want to be able to teach my child how to cultivate, share and enjoy such relationships that will support them throughout their life.
I am very fortunate to have dear friends who are spread out across the country. I am also very fortunate that I am able to travel to them. Most importantly we all make the effort to be with each other.
in closing
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
Although I can never truly understand what you are feeling, I think about your journey and I am beyond moved. Because of my awe for all that you have done, I will guide your child through this world so that, in turn, they can fully appreciate, respect and offer consideration for you and all others through their many journeys in life.
