My service to families begins with the process of discovering what makes your family unique.

Often the hardest part about writing your Dear Birth Mother letter is just getting started. Our family questionnaire is a great place to start developing your text, and it often becomes the foundation for your profile. Also included in our Complete Profile Package is a one-hour interview with your family. It is also helpful for me to see what text you might already have, so I like to review any previous profiles, or attempts you have made.

Photos are a huge part of your profile, and a wonderful way for me to learn about your family. Photos tell me the things you forget to say, and help me get to know each member of your family. Together with reviewing your photos, the questionnaire and phone interview give me a great sense of your family’s unique style.

Part of deciding what to include in your profile is the process of deciding what not to include. I like to say this is the difference between what you want to share with a birth mom and what she wants to know. You might want to list all your cousins by name and age, but I will tell you that really, she doesn’t want to know. I will give you the honest and sometimes difficult feedback about your photos and text, and help tell your personal story in an articulate and meaningful way.

Although each family is unique, and each agency is unique in what they request from families, I find most books are 8-10 pages, and are either hand bound or spiral bound. I use 120#, 8 ½ x 11 ” laser paper and add a transparent plastic or vellum cover with a firm backing. Although 12x12 is a popular scrap booking size I do not recommend your profile book be that large. Practically speaking, that is an awkward size to ship, carry and store.

These client profiles are intended to give you an idea of the many different design styles I can create for you. The text is their own, and we ask that you not plagarize.
