The Peanut Shell – Gorgeous, amazing slings for nurturing your adopted child. I was a ‘slingin’ mama” for both my children; first my two-pound preemie and then my second son who we were blessed to adopt at birth. What a great way to bond with your child. I give slings to every friend that has a baby, I don’t know how you can be without one. These slings are, hands down, the most beautiful I’ve ever seen!

Think adopting means you can’t nurse your wonderful new baby? Think again! I successfully nursed our adopted son for 6 months, and wouldn’t give up a minute of it. This site is full of information, community support and links to products you may need. When is the right time to start? Right now. Get information, support, find a supportive doctor in your area, buy a pump and happy nursing! I am happy to chat with you about the process we used as well, or answer any other questions you may have.

Brenda Romanchik is the very well respected director of this non profit organization. I highly encourage all hopeful adoptive parents to spend time on this site. The basics of open adoption are explained, but so much more than that.. If you are afraid of open adoption, or fear open adoption means that someone will someday take “your” baby away then I implore you to read through this site. I walk away with a respect and a reverence for birthparents, and a fuller understanding of the honesty that is needed in this very complex relationship, and I hope you do the same.
This is Skye Hardwick’s beautiful site. Again, this is written by birthmothers—lifemothers!—for birthmothers, but should be required reading for all adoptive parents. Adoption requires that we have truth, honesty, and respect in all our communications between our families, and this site will help lay the foundations for this. Mutual respect is the key to building lifelong relationships.
